The GOOD news is my "In One Palette" article has been published in the new issue of Somerset Studios Magazine! Yay - it looks great! The Somerset people have done a beautiful job with the photography and my Lime Green, Aquamarine and Clementine works look bright and fabulous!
If you have reached my blog via the article - welcome! I only wish I had more to show you and had been able to reopen my Etsy shop on 9/1 as planned. Please do leave me a comment with your email and I will gladly let you know when I'm up and running again... Because:
The Not So Good news is we are still suffering the effects of Hurricane Irene here in Connecticut and I have no Internet connection - other than my cell phone - which only came back yesterday. Before that, my only way to connect with the outside world was to drive down to Georgetown.. So many stores are still not open and those that are have weirdly empty shelves - and driving around without traffic lights creates a weird kind of... archaic vigilanteism!
In general we have been lucky tho, although a sugar maple fell onto the chicken coop (no chickens were harmed however - we have no chickens..!)
After a long summer hiatus I am revved up to "reconnect" - have new works to share and new items for my shop. Now as soon as we do get reconnected I can do so!
(ahh! Is that a cable truck I hear backing into our driveway!?!)

Hi, Melissa - Many congrats on being published in Somerset Studios! I've been wondering where your blog was (my computer died a few months ago along with all my FAVES) and found it again through Liliana Meredith's. I'm loving all the clementine and can't wait to get a copy of the magazine! Good luck with Irene!

Yes, I came by way of Somerset and my three favorite colors......enjoyed the article and loved the artwork! I'd like to see more. Geez, we still hear about what happened in New Orleans but the recovery progress in your area is never mentioned in the national news. Sorry to hear you and your neighbors are still dealing with the after effects. You may email me or I will check your status from time to time,
